Solar Basics
Solar: Clean, quiet, reliable & free
The Sun provides enough energy to the earth in one hour, to fuel all of the worlds energy needs for an entire year.
Over the last fifty years the technology has been refined and improved. The result is that today's solar panels are highly affordable and have an anticipated lifetime of 30 years or more.
What is the difference between solar PV and solar thermal?
Solar PV (photo-voltaic) panels convert sunlight into electricity, which is stored in batteries. Solar thermal converts sunlight into heat, which is used to produce hot water. PV and Thermal can work side by side, however in terms of Cost/Watt, solar thermal is only about 20-25% the cost of PV, due mainly the fact that the performance and efficiency is so much higher. while PV panels average around 13-15% conversion, Unitech Solar can provide coverage and readily convert 100% of sunlight into usable heat which provides savings of 65-75% on your utility bill!
