Types of installation
While Solar Thermal systems have historically been designed for rooftops to minimize the allocation of otherwise useful space, the desire for larger systems and ancillary benefits are driving innovative design configurations. The following three locations are now common.
Rooftop
Rooftop – Still the most common system built, rooftop-mounted systems are fairly inexpensive. Collectors can be installed on any type of roof, but some roofing types are easier than others. Design considerations include ballasting (no roof penetrations necessary) or penetrations that is suggested or mandated by wind and seismic codes and the age of the roof. When considering installing a Solar Thermal system that may operate in that location for 25-30 years, it is important to consider the age, warranty, and general condition of the roof.
Wall-Mounted
Evacuated tube collectors carry a beauty in both design and technology.
Design: The tubes are transparent and are assembled with about an inch of space between each tube. That displays a slat shading effect which is commonly found in today's modern architecture. Technology: Due to the round shape, the evacuated tubes passively track the sun throughout the day. This is very different to flat plate panels which only face the sun at midday. By tracking the sun from early morning to late afternoon, these Solar Collectors can absorb more radiation for longer each day.
Architectural Design
At Unitech Solar we aggressively invest in research and development and are always look for better ways to reduce the installed cost
of a project. we also put large amounts of time and energy into designing and creating the most appealing and creative look in a solar thermal installation.
we have designed and produced three different models of a solar thermal collector. The Solar Collectors remain the same, however the casing that surrounds it, is designed for a specific installation.
1) A Canopy Collector
2) Balcony Collector
3) Prefab Socket Collector
